Barak reiterates his proposal on making a referendum on the Golan

Chairman of the Israeli Labor Party Ehud Barak has reiterated his proposal on the need to carry out a general referendum in Israel concerning the occupied Syrian Golan Heights in the course of settlement with Syria.

In an interview with Israeli Army Radio on Monday, Barak added that following the forthcoming Israeli elections and in case he wins the post of prime minister in the Israeli government he will submit the issue of the Golan Heights to the Israelis in a general referendum.
