First international airport held by the Egyptian private sector
The executive steps for establishing the first international airport held by the Egyptian private sector have started in the Marsa Alam area on Egypt's northern coast on the Mediterranean Sea.
A press statement issued by Imac Marsa Alam company, which contracted with the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority to establish this airport, said the Nile Company for Roads started implementing a runway for airplanes which is three kilometers and the runway leads to the airplanes' taxiing area.
In October the passenger terminal must be established with a capacity of 600 passengers per hour, as well as air traffic control tower, electric power stations, water and workers' houses.
The airport will begin to be used in two years, and the organization of Paris Airport runs the airport.
The Dutch Bureau for Airports will design the airport.
