Israel held responsible over violating April Understanding

The April Understanding Monitoring Committee has condemned Israel over its violation of the April Understanding's provisions, which ban bombarding civilians or targeting residential areas in military operations.

In a statement released following its meeting on Thursday at the headquarters of UNIFIL in the Lebanese border town of al-Naqoura, the group asserted that the Israeli bombarded of Habboush and Arab Salim in al-Tuffah district resulted in wounding several Lebanese civilians and heavy material losses, a matter which is considered a violation to the understanding's provisions.

The committee also viewed the Israeli bombardment of Yater town in the western sector as a violation of the understanding. The committee called upon Israel to take more effective measures to avoid such incidents taking place again.
