Lebanon appeals the UN for return of Lebanese deportees

Originally published

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri asked UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in a cable he sent on Wednesday to make an immediate move to return the Lebanese deportees from the occupied town of Shabaa to their homes.

Berri denounced the act of storming houses of the town of Shabaa by the Israeli occupation forces.

He praised the confrontation mounted by the people of the town in rejecting the occupation and its oppressive and provocative measures, especially after masked men from the Israeli intelligence forced twenty citizens from the town to evacuate their houses and properties and expelled the Lebanese citizens outside the Israeli occupied strip of south Lebanon.
