Peace is a strategic option for Jordan
Jordanian Foreign Minister Abd al-Ilah al-Khatib has asserted that just and comprehensive peace peace is the strategic option on which the Arab nation has agreed.
In a statement to the Saudi daily al-Riyadh issued on Wednesday, al-Khatib said that Jordan's position is based on supporting the efforts of "our brothers in Syria and Lebanon to resume their negotiations on the Syrian and Lebanese tracks in order to achieve Just and comprehensive peace."
He stressed the need for Israel's commitment to the implementation of all requirements of a just and comprehensive peace. Al-Khatib called upon the international community to use all its weight to carry out all peace agreements and provide success for the Middle East peace process through achieving a just and durable peace.
Concerning Israel's position on the water agreement with Jordan, al-Khatib said the Israeli-Jordanian peace agreement is very clear in regard to shares of water between the two sides, saying, "This issue is not under negotiation."
