Moroccan university Al Akhawayn of Ifrane (AUI), signed on Thursday partnership agreements with the American Chamber of Commerce in Morocco and with US George Washington University.

The agreements were signed on the fringes of a visit to Morocco by US First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, who canceled her scheduled visit to Ifrane and Fes because of heavy fog.

The agreement between AUI and the American chamber provides for the creation within the university of a "Moroccan-American Executive Business Center" that will give training courses for Moroccan executives and managers of private enterprises.

The center, to have a branch in Casablanca, will be equipped with high-technology for training, research and studies.

Under another agreement, AUI and George Washington University will launch a faculty and student exchange program and will set up a jointly-owned and managed fund endowed with an initial capital of US $2 million.

Under this partnership accord, the two universities will be endeavoring to promote studies on North America, Moroccan and arab history and civilization, political sciences, international relations, business law and the training of business managers.
