King Abdullah to visit Saudi Arabia

An announcement was made on Thursday in Amman in that Jordan's King Abdullah will start next week an official visit to Saudi Arabia. A statement by the Jordanian royal court said the visit comes at the invitation of Saudi Arabia's King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz.

The invitation was extended by the Saudi Minister of State Madani Alaqi during his meeting in Amman on Wednesday with King Abdullah.

The statement explained that King Abdullah stressed during the meeting that the visit will be "an opportunity to strengthen and support relations between the two countries in various domains as well as to exchange viewpoints concerning various issues on the Arab arena."

Al-Alaqi left Amman for home following his meeting with King Abdullah.
