Israeli forces bomb the towns of Safad al-Batteikh, Kafra in south Lebanon
Israeli warplanes on Wednesday continued raids against areas in the northern part of the occupied zone of south Lebanon and in al-Tuffah district.
Lebanese Security sources said the raiding planes launched repeated attacks on al-Hamra farm in the central sector and al-Botoum mountainous area in the western area between Luweizeh and Mleikh towns.
The Lebanese Army and resistance forces' anti-aircraft guns intercepted the raided planes which dropped thermal balloons.
Meantime, Lebanese resistance forces attacked three Israeli military positions inside the occupied zone of south Lebanon. In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said its fighters machine-gunned and rocketed al-Teibeh, Barachit and Hameed positions which were directly hit.
Further reports from south Lebanon said the Israeli occupation troops shelled using heavy artillery several areas close to the occupied part of south Lebanon.
Lebanese security sources said the Israeli forces bombarded the towns of Safad al-Batteikh, Kafra, Yater, Srbin, Hariss, Tibnin and the outskirts of Majdal Salam, Qabrikha, Wadi al-Qeseyeh and al-Assi.
The shelling coincided with heavy machine-gun fire by the Israeli forces and with intensive sorties carried out by Israeli warplanes at low altitudes over the central sector near Tyre.
