Hillary Clinton in Egypt
U.S. First Lady Hillary Clinton arrived yesterday in Cairo, accompanied by her daughter, Chelsea, for a five-day visit to Egypt, at the beginning of a North African tour including Tunisia and Morocco.
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is to hold a lunch banquet to honor her. Moreover, Hillary Clinton is going to visit the artifacts from the old civilizations of Egypt as well as Islamic and Coptic antiquities.
On the other hand, she is going to deliver a speech in the American University of Cairo tomorrow, in which she will focus on religious tolerance, in addition to the rights of women and children, the enhancement of democracy and the importance of removing exchanged suspicion between the Arab and Western world.
American diplomatic sources in Cairo said that Clinton would like to renew the confirmation of the messages that her husband is greatly concerned with expressing to the Islamic world his respect for the principals and values of Islam and his opposition to strife between Islam and the West.
