British dailies talk about water crisis between Jordan and Israel
The British daily the Independent has stated that the new water crisis between Israel and Jordan will be the first test of the diplomatic capabilities of King Abdullah of Jordan.
For its part, the British daily the Times recalled warnings by diplomats and experts that water rather than the oil will be the first reason for inflaming regional disputes in the new millennium, in the next century.
Moreover, the BBC said that the Daily Telegraph highlighted this issue under the title "Reducing water supplies from Israel to Jordan at 50% is but a test for the new Jordanian King."
The British daily added that the Israeli water experts estimate that the level of water at al-Yarmouk river decreased to the minimum rate for 90 years and that Israeli officials announced that the 1.8 million Palestinians living in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip will also receive a lower share of waters for this year.
