Sharjah trade exposition opened
The Emirate of Sharjah on Monday opened its trade exposition, which will last only for two days, in which the US trade department is taking part.
AFP said that companies specializing in the areas of oil, gas, industry, agriculture and electronics from 10 US states are taking part in the exposition, which is being held at the expositions center in Sharjah. These states include the states of Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Virginia, Missouri, Ohio.
Through this exposition some 250 small and intermediate-sized US enterprises are preparing to get into the UAE market.
On the other hand, the US trade attache in the UAE, David Dundil, said that the volume of trade exchange between the US and the UAE reached US $3 billion in 1998, a figure which makes the UAE the United States' third-largest trade partner in the Middle East following Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
