UN - oil-for-food

The United Nations announced yesterday that nearly 190 million barrels of Iraqi crude oil have been exported so far during the phase of the oil-for-food agreement with Iraq, which started on November 26, 1998 and will last until May 23, 1999. The Security Council Sanctions Committee has also approved in this period $230 million worth of contracts for spare parts and equipment out of a total allocation of $300 million during this phase of the program.
