Jordanian King says: Syria wants peace

King Abdullah Bin al-Hussein of Jordan has expressed confidence that Syria wishes to achieve a just and comprehensive peace, which the people of the region desire.

During his reception of a delegation representing the American "al-Salaam group," the King added that the Middle East peace process should end in a state of security. He asserted that development and prosperity cannot be realized without peace and stability prevailing.

The Jordanian King stressed the need to work to overcome anything that hinders Palestinian - Israeli negotiations. He referred to the Jordanian position in supporting the cause of Palestine in order to enable them to regain their rights and to establish their own state on their native soil.
