Israeli official continues hostile statements against Lebanon

Originally published

Israeli Minister of Internal Security Avigdor Kahalani had asserted the refusal of the current Israeli government to link the Syrian and Lebanese tracks in the Middle East peace process.

In a statement he made on Tuesday quoted by Israel Radio during a tour he made of northern Israel to debate Israeli maneuvers on conditions set for Israel's withdrawal from the occupied part of south Lebanon.

In this respect, observers stressed that Israel intends to devalue UN resolutions.

Kahalani also criticized the April Understanding and described it as restricting the operations of the Israeli Army in south Lebanon.

Israel, since the signing of the April Understanding in 1996, has repeatedly violated its conditions.
