The chairman of the representative council of the Jewish organizations in France, Henry Hangdburg, met with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo on Monday.

The delegation's visit comes in the course of a tour which covers Jordan, Israel and the Palestinian self-rule area.

Following the meeting Hangdburg said that the objective of his tour is to express "commitment of the Jews in France to take part in the Middle East peace process on various tracks."

He added that, "We felt the established conviction and will in President Hosni Mubarak to continue negotiations for the sake of peace." He stated that the meeting also dealt with Egypt's stand and its own vision towards causes of the region.

Earlier in the day, the Jewish delegation held with Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa a round of talks dealing with Palestinian-Israeli negotiations. Moussa noted the obstacles placed by Israel on the way to peace and its deadlock of the Wye River agreement.

The Jewish delegation will head for Jordan today, where it will meet with Jordan's King Abdullah.
