2000 companies in Cairo International Exhibition on Tuesday
Egyptian Minister of Trade and Supply Ahmed Goweili stated that the Cairo International Exhibition has become the most important economic event in Egypt and the Middle East as a whole, as the number of countries participating in the event has reached 53, compared to only 32 countries last year.
The Egyptian minister also pointed out that the number of trade ministers and deputy prime ministers who are to attend to the inauguration of the market amounts this year to 53, while the number of participating companies is 2,000.
He also confirmed that foreign delegations that have confirmed their attendance include a German delegation chaired by the official responsible of relations with the Middle East in the German government.
The exhibition is more enhanced from last year due to the activation and increased foreign trade relations since 1996 with Asia, Africa and Eastern European countries.
Goweili said that there are new countries taking part for the first time this year, such as Belarus and a number of COMESA member states.
