Iraqi petroleum exports will not increase before March 2000
Iraqi Minister of Petroleum Amr Rashid said that during this year Baghdad will export 2.1 million barrels of oil daily during the fifth stage of the oil-for-food accord, adding that Iraq is able to increase its exports to more than 2.5 million barrels daily if the spare parts it bought reach the country within the framework of the agreement with the United Nations.
In this way Iraqi exports will not increase before March 2000, and it is expected that Iraq will be able to gather about $3 billion during the current phase of the oil-for-food accord, lasting for 180 days and ending on May 24.
