Yemen denies al-Iryani met with Israeli official

The Yemeni government denied that Prime Minister Abdul Karim al-Iryani met with the general manager of the Israeli Foreign Ministry last week.

Yemeni official sources said what was reported regarding this matter is not true and that Yemen's position does not accept normalization with Israel before legitimate Arab rights and the occupied lands in Palestine, the Golan Heights and south Lebanon are restored.

The Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot reported that al-Iryani discussed with the Israeli official in a confidential meeting the possibility of opening mutual representation offices and that the Yemeni government will allow 10,000 Israeli persons of Yemeni origin to visit Yemen and Israeli companies to invest in Yemeni projects.
