Originally published

The US embassy in Damascus has announced that it will resume issuing non-migration visas as of next Sunday, February 28.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the embassy said that those who traveled to the US within the five past years and their visas expired can come to the consular section in the embassy from Sunday until Thursday from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., having with them their valid passports or their old ones which contain the old travel visas to the US.

The statement added that those who had earlier appointments which were canceled due to the closure of the consulate section can come to that section at 7:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. to have a new date fixed.

The embassy closed after it was broken into by citizens protesting US strikes against Iraq.
