King Fahd: Israel obstructs peace

King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia has urged the international community to exert more efforts in order to give the Middle East peace process a push forward, asserting that Israel stands as a bulwark against every positive stride towards this end.

Upon presiding the weekly meeting of the Saudi Cabinet, held on Monday, the Saudi King stressed the Arab states' adherence to a just and comprehensive peace to ensure security and stability in the region.

The Saudi king stressed Saudi Arabia's desire to strengthen Arab and Islamic solidarity. He said: "Saudi Arabia worked and will work through the Arab League and the Organization of the Islamic Conference to strengthen the unity of Arab and Islamic ranks and strengthen ties of fraternity, security and stability in the Arab and Islamic countries, alike."
