Trade can reach $ 200 million next year between Egypt and Morocco
Moroccan-Egyptian Trade exchanges can reach $ 200 Million by year 2000 from $ 30 Million currently, Egyptian Trade Minister Ahmed Jouili said Wednesday in Casablanca.
At a news conference held in Rabat after his two-day work visit to attend 1st meeting of Moroccan-Egyptian Business council, Jouili said it is high time for the two states to make business directly without resorting to a third party.
"Such a measure besides visa suppression and enhancing air and maritime links will certainly contribute to increasing trade exchanges," the Egyptian official added, affirming that the Egyptians, who appreciate greatly Moroccan sea products, are interested in promoting partnership with Morocco in the fishing sector.
The agricultural and industrial sectors also offer great opportunities for the two countries' businessmen, Jouili said, noting that Egypt can serve as a platform for the promotion of the exports of Moroccan products in the Middle East and the Gulf regions, while Morocco can be a gate for the transit of Egyptian products for West African countries.
