Originally published

An international meeting begins today in Frankfurt to discuss the pledges from the donor states to aid the Palestinians.

The United States, European Union, Israel and Arab states will take part in this meeting.

The Arab states that host Palestinian refugees will hold a meeting on Sunday at the Arab League to discuss the status of the Palestinian refugees in the Arab countries and the developments of the Palestinian issue in the light of Israeli preparations to hold early elections as well as the methods of confronting the Israeli threat to Jerusalem and the building of settlements in occupied Arab territories.

Moreover, representatives of Egypt, Jordan, Palestinian, and Syria -- the countries that host the majority of the Palestinian refugees -- are taking part in the meetings.

The assistant secretary general of the Arab League, Saeed Kamal, said that the meetings will discuss the financial status of the UN agency for the Palestinian refuges, UNRWA, as well as the methods of enhancing it, and the living conditions of the Palestinians under occupation.
