Prominent French official the first to visit Algeria in four years

Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf received yesterday Louis Henkin the French Foreign Ministry's secretary general, who is the first prominent French official to visit Algeria in nearly four years.

Algerian official sources said the talks tackled bilateral ties, regional and international issues.

Sec. of State of Algerian Community Abroad Tedjini Salaouandji received the French official yesterday, with whom he tackled problems regarding the status of Algerians residing in France.

On the other hand, Salem Ahmed Salem, the secretary general of the Organization of the African Unity arrived at Algeria on a workvisit during which he focused on the preparing works of the coming African summit hosted by Algeria this summer and the last summit will in this century.
