Iraq condemns U.S. official in charge of coordinating the opposition

Iraq has greatly condemned the tour of US diplomat Frank Ricciardone, who is responsible for coordination between the US administration and Iraqi opposition abroad.

An Iraqi information spokesman said the American diplomat is devoting himself to the leading and directing the opposition "traitors."

He also described the foreign opposition abroad as being unpatriotic and unIraqi, adding that Iraq knows Ricciardone will choose one of the neighboring countries as his headquarters to be near the events.

He also urged the Arab states to reject the US plan to topple Iraq's government, saying it represents a glaring negligence of the UN charter, international law and UN Security Council decisions that dictate the sovereignty of Iraq.
