Originally published

Morocco has set the minimum age for military service at 20.

A draft law, approved on Thursday by the weekly government council meeting, stipulates that Moroccans can be fit for military service at the age of 20.

The draft law reduces the military service duration from 18 months to 12 only.

Military service in Morocco is compulsory and can be exercised until the age of 50

The draft law also guarantees to private sector employees the right to resume their job after the completion of their service in the army.
