Lebanese resistance confronts advance moves by Israelis in south Lebanon
Lebanese resistance forces on Tuesday night confronted advances by Israeli occupation forces, for the third time within three days. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Lebanese national resistance said one of its groups attacked on Tuesday an Israeli manned patrol that was trying to advance close to Bustan Jamil and the Wadi al-Hajir district, noting that the resistance men used machine guns and rockets in the attack.
The resistance said the confrontation resulted in direct hits on the patrol.
Later, the Lebanese resistance attacked the patrol a second time and more casualties were inflicted. The Israeli under pressure requested helicopter back-up during the confrontation.
One Israeli helicopter tried to land in order to evacuate the casualties, but was prevented from doing so by the resistance.
Another resistance group attacked an armored vehicle entering the Beer Klab position. The resistance forces also carried out two attacks against the Israeli and Israeli-allied South Lebanon Army militia positions in al-Qasir and al-Sal'a, using machine-guns and rockets. Direct hits were achieved.
On Tuesday night, a resistance group attacked positions of Israeli occupation and SLA forces in al-Qantara in the occupied part of south Lebanon.
In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said the position was hit directly.
