US general admits striking residential areas
Commander of the US troops in the Gulf region General Anthony Zinni has admitted that US weapons hit residential areas in al-Basra city, southern Iraq. In a statement he made on Tuesday, Zinni claimed that one missile that was dropped by US warplanes over the "no fly zone" in southern Iraq may deviated and landed in populated areas in al-Basra city.
