Israel held responsible for violation of April Understanding

The April Understanding Monitoring Committee has held Israel responsible for violating the agreement when Israeli artillery shelled populated areas in the northern part of the occupied strip of south Lebanon.

The committee considered in its meeting Monday, the Israeli shelling of houses in Western Bekaa as a violation of the Understanding which bans launching attacks on populated areas or the targeting of civilians.

Moreover, the Lebanese and Syrian delegations at the monitoring committee's meeting countered Israeli allegations that the resistance shelled Israeli positions in populated areas in Hadatha town.
