WB chief calls for comprehensive development program for least developed countries
World Bank president James Wolfensohn called Sunday in Abidjan for setting up a global development program for the least developed countries.
The long-term program involving both the private and public sectors will seek to combat corruption, reinforce the judiciary, educational and health sectors and protect the environment, the WB chairman said during a news conference at the end of his three-day work visit to Cote D'Ivoire.
Wolfensohn, who inaugurated a $318 million power station in Cote D'Ivoire, called for the consolidation of partnership between the private sector, aid donors and governments to ensure success to the long-term development strategies in poor countries.
