French association grants humanitarian assistance to disabled Moroccans

Originally published

French association "Handicap Nord-Sud" will grant humanitarian assistance to disabled former Moroccan servicemen.

The assistance -- consisting of wheelchairs, crutches, garments, typewriters, computers and school equipment -- will be handed out on February 11 to the disabled Moroccans on the occasion of the sixth Paris-Abidjan humanitarian program, which will cross Morocco on its way to Cote D'Ivoire.

The 8,000 km long African trip, sponsored by former French resistance members, will depart from Paris on Feb. 5 and reach Morocco on Feb.10.

The humanitarian convoy will go through several southern Moroccan cities before heading for Mauritania, Senegal, Mali and Cote D'Ivoire.

The goal of the program is to restore contacts with disabled war veterans from Africa, assess their material needs, provide them assistance and pay homage to their sacrifice for noble causes.
