Jordan's King Hussein is to direct a speech to his people on Monday in which he is expected to announce his anticipated to appoint his oldest son, Prince Abdullah as crown prince, succeeding Prince Hassan, the king's brother, who occupied this post for 33 years.

Jordanian official sources said King Hussein may explain in his speech the reasons that led him to take the decision for which the Jordanian monarch paved the way with statements in which he announced that he was seriously thinking of reconsidering the current arrangements for the succession of the Jordanian throne, including a comprehensive revision of Jordan's positions, which he promised before his return to Amman at the end of lengthy medical treatment in the United States.

The sources said the coming few days will be full of comprehensive changes in Jordan.
