Israel discusses releasing 30 - 40 Palestinian prisoners

Israeli Defense Minister Yitzhak Mordechai said on Monday that specialized Israeli security personnel will discuss the possibility of releasing some 30 to 40 Palestinian detainees or prisoners for what he described as a show of good intentions by Israel on Eid al-Fitr.

In statements he made on Monday, Mordechai said that special sides concerned at his ministry are making necessary preparations to release those Palestinian detainees or prisoners from the Israeli jails, Israeli radio reported.
