Originally published

The United Nations committee for preventing crime is to hold a conference tomorrow in Vienna, Austria to discuss an international draft agreement for preventing organized and international crime, to last until January 29.

Eskander Gattas, Egyptian assistant minister of justice and the head of the Egyptian delegation to the meeting, said the conference will discuss the draft agreement for combating organized and international crime as well as the crimes of money laundering, exploitation of people, prostitution of women and children, exploitation of immigrant labor forces and terrorist crimes.

The counselor also said that Egypt will release a statement before the conference in which it will call for enhancing international cooperation in combating these crimes and modernizing security and legal mechanisms that help suspects avoid legal inquiry and facilitating measures for handing the criminals over and making special adjustments to combat money laundering, which has become a great danger in the globalization era.
