Teaching operations will start in the said university by the year 2000. Some 150 Egyptian intellectuals and businessmen signed by the end of last week a document provided for the establishment of this educational institution at a capital of 100 million Egyptian pound.

The said university will have an engineering university including computer sciences, civil engineering, telecommunications, agriculture, medicine, pharmacy, architecture and faculties for economic, the law and business administration.

The selection of the faculties was based on the country's need. France will provide from 20 to 40 percent of the teaching staff.
