Severe stresses on Algerian Democratic National Assembly

El-Taher Ben Baebeish, the secretary general of the Algerian Democratic National Assembly party revealed in a press conference yesterday strong pressure that was placed by some members of the Nations Council for the party to sign a document recommending Former Prime Minister Abdul Aziz Boutaflika for Algeria's presidency.

Baebeish stated that committees for supporting Boutaflika were estabilshed in the states, although the party's leadership has not yet agreed on its candidate for the elections.

Ben Baebeish did not specify the source of the pressure.
