Originally published

Morocco is working out a new international cooperation strategy that would give to bilateral and multilateral cooperation the importance required by national and international juncture, said a Moroccan official.

Aicha Belarbi told al-Ittihad al-Ichtiraki daily that Morocco will be cooperating with regions other than Europe and that Moroccan economic operators have actually started to prospect other countries. She explained that cooperation goes beyond the political dimension to encompass economy, culture, finances and investments.

Belarbi went on that Morocco's cooperation with countries of the north is very ancient. It is a solid cooperation especially with countries such as France, Spain, Italy and Belgium. According to the official, Morocco's relations with Europe are not imbalanced, they are rather partnership relations. She argued that efficient partnership with Europe should include all Maghreb countries and all southern countries.

Regarding Morocco's relations with Africa, she said Morocco is exerting sustained efforts to help African countries, through the conclusion of bilateral agreements and contribution to development projects.
