Iraqi foreign minister, Mohammad Said as-Sahhaf renewed a call to Arab states to lift the embargo enforced against his country 8 years ago.

The Iraqi official who made the statement upon leaving Yemen at the end of a 48-hour visit said "an Arab summit should decide to lift the embargo against Iraq, condemn the US-British aggression and carry on mobilization against this aggression."

During his stay in Sanaa, the Iraqi foreign minister met with Yemeni president Ali Abdellah Saleh who is the promoter of holding an Arab summit.

On Monday, the Arab league decided to postpone up to next month a meeting of Arab foreign ministers who were scheduled to discuss the US-British strikes against Iraq.
