King Hussein announces full recovery

King Hussein of Jordan on Tuesday announced that he has left the Mayo Clinic hospital in the United States after he has fully recovered from cancer and completed six stages of chemotherapy, which he started in July 14.

In a message to his brother, Crown Prince Hassan Bin Tallal broadcast by Jordanian television, the Jordanian King explained that his doctors permitted him to leave the hospital after six rounds of treatment.

The King indicated he will leave for Washington to spend several days and then for London and then to Amman to take some rest and then return to his normal activities.

After he stressed that doctors are pleased with the results of final medical tests, the King said he will return to the same hospital in the third month of 1999 "to hold medical tests which will be, if God wills, in compliance with doctors' expectations."
