Japan cancels warning to its citizens on visits to Egypt
Japan has canceled a warning issued last year following the Luxor massacre advising its citizens not to visit Egypt after the attack claimed the lives of 58 tourists, many of whom were Japanese.
The Deputy Secretary General of the Japanese Cabinet, Monio Suzuki, informed Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa during their meeting on Monday in Cairo that as of December 29 the "Japanese can visit tourism and archaeological sites in Egypt."
However, the decrease in Japanese tourism to Egypt resulted in losses estimated at US $1 billion in the past year.
