Teachers at Sanaa, Aden universities terminate strike
Teachers at the universities of Sanaa and Aden on Thursday ended their two-week strike after they received a salary increase estimated at 50%.
The 2,000 teachers, whose average salary is estimated at 25,000 Yemeni riyals (US $200) started a strike on December 8 demanding the implementation of a decision providing for increasing their salaries, which had been agreed upon by the Cabinet.
In a statement, the teachers said the ministry of finance agreed to give them this increase, then lessons resumed at the two universities.
