Yemeni authorities extradite political detainees from Arab opposition factions

Originally published

Yemen official sources said that the Yemeni authorities decided to expel all political detainees from Arab opposition factions residing in Sanaa, except the Sudanese opposition's leaders who were released by financial guarantees two days ago.

Meanwhile, the Yemen newspaper "The Week" quoted sources in the Arab opposition at Sanaa as saying that the Yemeni government intends to extradite all elements from Arab opposition factions due to the pressure exerted by Arab governments and accusations that Yemen shelters these elements.

The newspaper said that Yemeni security officials extradited Algerian and Egyptian opposition members in the past two weeks, who had been detained since November.
