On annexation decision anniversary, Golan people on general strike
A general strike was held on Monday in most towns and villages of the Israeli-occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
The demonstrators expressed national belongings and affiliation and allegiance to their motherland, Syria, and their categorical refusal of the Israeli December 14, 1981 decision to annex the Golan.
Marches were observed in different parts of the occupied Golan where schools and shops were closed and all farmers and laborers stopped work to take part in the protest against Israel's "racist decisions."
In Majdal Shams town, a large demonstration was held. Protesters raised anti-occupation slogans and banners commending Syria and "its great leader, President al-Assad."
The participants in the demonstration praised the prisoners detained in Israeli jails.
In a statement, the people of the Golan reiterated their full allegiance to their homeland Syria "under the leadership of President al-Assad." They also expressed their faith in the Golan "as an integral part of the Syrian Homeland."
