AL welcomes Clinton's visit

Originally published

Arab League Secretary-General Esmat Abdul Meguid welcomed yesterday the visit of US Presidnet Bill Clinton to the region, calling it a chance to rescue the peace process and face Israeli obstinacy, as well as a chance for the U.S. to prove its credibility in the peace process. Also, Egypt expressed optimism toward the success of Clinton's visit to Israel and the Palestinian National Authority's self-rule areas because it represents a chance to achieve progress in the peace process, while Damascus said it believes the visit did not achieve tangible progress, except presenting more Arab concessions.
