African refugees conference denounces foreign intervenes
The sessions of the ministerial conference for African refugees were concluded yesterday, where more than 27 ministers and representatives of 42 African countries and 22 international organizations attended.
In the concluding session, Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismael, Organization of African Unity Secretary General Salim Ahmed Salim delivered the recommendations of the conference and Khartoum declarations concerning the refugees, which will be submitted to Algeria, in June 1999.
Meanwhile the conference has agreed that colonization and foreign intervention in African affairs are the main reasons behind seeking refuge and immigration.
The conference recommended putting an end to what is known as "armed refugees" by disarming refugee camps and arranging these camps away from border areas.
