Islamic World League stresses the Arab identity of Jerusalem
The Islamic World League has asserted the Arab identity of the holy city of Jerusalem.
It called upon the international community to implement UN resolutions reinforcing that Jerusalem is part of occupied Palestine and that Israel has no right to make any geographic or demographic change to it.
In a statement released on Monday, the IWL which has Mecca as a headquarters called upon the international community, foremost being the US, not to deal with the Israeli occupation authorities concerning Jerusalem in a way that can be explained as a covert recognition of the de facto imposed by Israel in announcing Jerusalem as a capital for Israel.
The IWL also called upon the international community, especially the US not to transfer their embassies to Jerusalem, thereby to honor the will of the international community and in guaranteeing the historical rights of Arabs and Muslims.
