Mubarak confers with Congo counterpart

President Hosni Mubarak on Sunday discussed with Congo's President Laurent Kabila, currently visiting Egypt, the latest developments in the Republic of Congo in light of the conflict between government forces and opposition troops and the efforts exerted to settle this dispute.

The two presidents also reviewed the role Egypt can play in settling the dispute through the Organization of African Unity. They discussed means of strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, especially in the area of the economics.
