El-Baz: Egypt supported Palestinian decision to sign Wye accord
Osama El-Baz, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's advisor for political affairs, stated that Egypt supported the Palestinian decision to sign the Wye River accord because any effort that aims at enabling the Palestinians to receive their rights is better than the deadlock, which threatens the stability of the Palestinian lands and neighboring countries.
In his address yesterday evening before a symposium of the Mediterranean discussion, organized by the parliamentary assembly for NATO, he said, "There is no contradiction between the American efforts and the Egyptian initiative, which aims at convening an international conference for saving the peace process," emphasizing that it is important to grant a sufficient chance to the US to revive the peace process.
