Iraq celebrates martyrs' anniversary

Iraq on Tuesday celebrated the anniversary of its martyrs in the war with Iran and stressed readiness to withstand "the aggressiveness of evil forces and to deter them," in reference to the US threats.

On this occasion, the Iraqi daily al-Qadiseyah said: "Our enemies, Americans and Zionists and their puppets, know well that the Iraqis who offered thousands of martyrs in 'Saddam Qadiseyah' battle and the glorious 'Um al-Ma'rek' (Mother of all Battles) -- the Gulf War -- and who are now defying the siege, stand today with their utmost determination and preparedness to deter the aggressors."
