24 joint Israeli - Jordanian projects on tap
The Jordanian Ministry of Planning has said in a report that it had completed studies on 24 joint Jordanian - Israeli projects in the Jordan Valley at a cost of 850 million dinars.
The Jordanian daily al-Majd reported that the energy sector had the lion's share of these projects, noting that energy-related projects cost $434 million US and the industrial sector comes next.
The paper quoted Israeli press sources as saying that within the coming days a new air link will be inaugurated between Jordan and Israel. The paper reported that the Jordanian and Israeli governments have agreed to inaugurate a daily air flight line between Amman and Tel Aviv in a special celebration to be attended by ministers representing the two sides.
The sources said that the air link between Amman and Tel Aviv that was inaugurated last year has witnessed a great turnout by Israeli passengers, because traveling from Israeli to Amman and then to Europe and the US costs less than travel via Tel Aviv.
