Tunisian food exports fall to $369 million
A Tunisian government report said that the volume of Tunisian exports of food products in the first 9 months of the current year, fell to $369 million in comparison to $413 million during the same period of the previous financial year.
The report also expected that the food trade balance would record a shortage of $242 million at the end of the current year in comparison to $168 million during the previous year.
Reports related this reduction to the drop in Tunisian olive oil exports, considered one of the main food products specified for exportation, after applying the conditions of European Union which call for withdrawing financial support from olive cultivators and subjecting the price of this product to supply and demand.
